The Safety and Reliability Society (SaRS) has presented Amanda Egerton with the President’s Award. Given only rarely, this was presented to Amanda on her retirement from the Western Branch Committee for her “outstanding contribution” to the Society.
Amanda has been a member of SaRS for over 20 years. She joined the Western Branch Committee in 2004 and became Branch Secretary a year later in 2005, a position she held for 11 years until stepping down at the Branch AGM last month (May 2016). Over the years she has identified speakers for the SaRS Western Branch Programme and also given presentations herself on a range of subjects.
The President’s Award was presented to Amanda by Richard Denning, current Western Branch Chairman and past President of SaRS. He thanked her for “her proactive involvement with the committee which has helped to maintain the Branch and ensure that it has continued to flourish”.
Although retiring from the committee Amanda will continue to support SaRS by continuing to attend SaRS Western Branch events whenever possible.
